At Schneider Electric we understand the importance of smart manufacturing and the impact smart practices and technologies can have on factory production – it’s because of this that continual investment is being made within our own factories worldwide.
Since 2018 we have invested in our UK manufacturing facilities in Flint, Leeds and Telford to transform them into smart manufacturing plants. Globally we have 80+ smart factories with 4 WEF Lighthouse recognised sites, leading the way for smart manufacturing.
Our site in Flint is a British manufacturing facility, producing PVC pellets onsite before transforming them into innovative cable management systems that are used in multiple applications. This site has seen 10% year on year reduction in electricity consumption and a significant reduction of up to £200,000 in maintenance costs, as a result of introducing Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure architecture, making the factory more efficient, productive, sustainable, and safer.
By implementing technologies such as EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor and LDS screens, we’ve put real-time information at the forefront of decision-making to increase efficiencies and decrease costs through instant diagnosis and contactless maintenance. Aveva software and asset monitoring onsite ensure predictive maintenance and round the clock monitoring.
Delivered by EcoStruxure, Schneider Electric’s open, interoperable, IoT-enabled system architecture and platform, we’ve created additional value that specifically focusses on safety, reliability, efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity. By leveraging advancements in IoT, mobility, sensing, cloud, analytics, and cybersecurity, we’ve delivered Innovation at Every Level incorporating Connected Products, Edge Control, and Apps, Analytics & Services.
To demonstrate this technology, we invite clients to our custom-built Innovation Hub in Coventry which features the latest IIoT enabled technology, industrial robotic solutions and cutting edge software solutions – helping realise the potential of smart technology.
A smart factory transformation is a step towards the future of manufacturing.
