Maxons are pleased to announce that the first order from Morrisons Supermarkets for Maxons Yorkshire Mixture 250g bags has been received.
This follows on from the good news that Maxons won a trademark battle against Joseph Dobson & Sons for the right to continue using the name Yorkshire Mixture in January and is the 3rd of the big supermarket chains to stock the Maxons Yorkshire Mixture 250g bags.
Managing Director of Maxons, Richard Pitchfork said: ÂWe are thrilled to be stocking Morrisons Supermarkets. It has been a work in progress since August of last year when we were introduced to the buying team by Made in Yorkshire. Morrisons are another fantastic Yorkshire based company and it is great for them to recognise a quality product and stock it alongside so many other fantastic Yorkshire brands.Â
ÂIt is one of our truly iconic products and the flagship for the company in Yorkshire. We have found in the past year a surge in its popularity and more and more people are wanting to stock the product nationwide since the redesigning of our bags in a true Sheffield Pop Art design thanks to Luke Prest, a local artist.
ÂWhen we have been showing the product to both trade and end customers at the Great Yorkshire Show and trade events around the country the feedback has always been about the quality of the flavours and shapes of the sweets and it is something we are very proud of. It is great to have this recognised by a company like Morrisons.Â
Maxons Yorkshire Mixture is now stocked in Asda, Tesco and Morrisons along with a number of high street retailers and specialist sweet shops.
Maxons is family owned business run by the 3rd generation of the Pitchfork family, Richard and Chris, who took over the business on the death of their father Roger in 2009. Always based in Sheffield Maxons can date its manufacturing back to the 1880s and still uses hand crafted and artisan techniques to make its finest quality sweets, employing 25 skilled workers in their Meersbrook factory.
