ChesterfieldÂs Ashgate Hospicecare, an essential facility in the area, may now be in a position to purchase an advanced device which will give patients better pain control, following a £1,200 donation from Loadhog, SheffieldÂs returnable transit packaging manufacturer.
LoadhogÂs fourth of the same amount this year to various charities, the gift to Ashgate Hospicecare will fund a syringe driver. This provides patients with better pain relief so they are able to spend more precious time with their loved ones.
Alison Ward-Foster, speaking on behalf of Ashgate, said: ÂLoadhogÂs contribution will help the hospice to make a real difference in supporting terminally ill adults and their families in the Chesterfield area. We thank Loadhog for its generous support which will enable us to maintain the invaluable specialist palliative care we provide.Â
Loadhog has a charity team which decided to donate £1,200 eight times this year to a different cause each time. The first was to SheffieldÂs Revive Café, to support the cityÂs homeless, the second to the same cityÂs Include Foundation, to help vulnerable young people, and the third to help youngsters who have lost their parents in Rotherham Hospice.
